Railcar ramps, tips from the manufacturer

When people inquire about railcar ramps, we are always happy to receive such a clarifying request.

For us, it is important not only to solve the current loading and unloading problems of our clients, but also to make our AUSBAU ramps serve them faithfully for many years to come.
When choosing a ramp, consider the following important aspects:
1. The angle of ascent for the cars is much larger, and accordingly the forklift truck needs more power to climb the railcar ramp. There may be several solutions to the problem: to lengthen the ramp under the client’s order, or raise the platform under the main place of work.
2. You can drive inside all trucks from behind, and inside all covered cars – from the lateral side. Therefore, it may be more rational to use a ramp with the specified lateral unloading. It means that the forklift truck climbs up the ramp, which stands parallel to the train, and turns into a car. This saves operational space. The disadvantage of the lateral unloading is the need to install support legs in the base of the railcar ramp (they can be made removable).
3. The railcars have a different fixing specificity, so we select different fastenings to fix railcar ramps to the cars than we do for standard ramps.
