We are often requested about unloading/loading small containers from a long platform. In such cases, using a standard ramp is not convenient . Therefore, we have developed special loading ramps for projects where containers are placed in the center of the platform or on container truck frames, where a forklift can not pass.

The main feature of this ramp for unloading containers is the extended horizontal part and the absence of lower supports, which allows you to drive on the platform and reach the container, even if it is far from the edge. It is perfect for use with universal long platforms designed to carry both 40-foot (12 meters) and 20-foot (6 meters) containers. The mobile ramp for containers simplifies loading and unloading operations with loads of up to 30 tons in limited warehouse spaces.

For 20- and 40-foot containers, the selection principle is the same – the further the container entrance is located from the rear edge of the semi-trailer, the longer the horizontal part of the mobile loading ramp must be. This is especially important when the container is placed in the centre of a long container chassis.

4. What is the load capacity of a mobile ramp needed for container unloading?

When choosing the load capacity of a loading ramp for containers, the total weight of the forklift and the maximum load it carries into the container must be considered. However, relying on the load capacity of the 20- or 40-foot container itself is incorrect – the load on the loading ramp is determined by the weight of the loading equipment and the cargo it transports.

For most standard operations, ramps with a load capacity of 6-12 tons are sufficient.
